LA-Style Kalbi (Bulgogi-Marinated Beef Short Ribs) & Classic Korean Japchae

When it comes to Korean sauces, the possibilities are endless! Prepare two classic Korean dishes, a sumptuous LA-Style Kalbi or Beef Short Ribs and Japchae with Bulgogi, using the one and only CJ Korean Barbeque Bulgogi Marinade.

Ingredients

1 pound Beef LA Short Rib

1 can sparkling water (optional)

Cooking oil
-
0.7lbs bulgogi meat or thin sliced rib eye

One white onion
-
Two medium carrots
-
Two stalks scallion
-
2-4pcs Cremini mushrooms

Cooking oil

Directions
LA-Style Kalbi
Rinse off any blood from the meat under running water.
Soak meat in cold water or sparkling water for 30 minutes.
Drain out water.
Pour over enough sauce to the beef until all pieces are coated (shake the marinade bottle before opening). Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Heat pan and add oil.
In medium high heat, cook each side for about 2-3 minutes or until caramel brown, flipping occasionally.
Cut your strips into smaller pieces. Enjoy together with any vegetable or white rice!
Japchae
Julienne all your vegetables.
Place meat in a bowl, pour over enough sauce until all pieces are coated (shake the marinade bottle before opening). Mix well.
Add carrots and onions to the bowl and marinate together with the beef. Mix well. Add more sauce if needed.
Place the bowl in the fridge and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Soak noodles in warm water for 20 minutes.
Bring water to a boil and cook noodles for 6-7 minutes.
Drain noodles well.
Heat pan to medium high and add cooking oil.
Place marinated beef and veggies into the pan.
Once beef is all brown, mix in glass noodles.
Add in scallions and mushrooms.
